Guided cross country ski trip - beginner ski course in Tromsø
If you have never tried skiing, this is your opportunity to learn cross-country skiing in a scenic, relaxed and fun environment! Skiing is Norway's national sport and something everyone should try when visiting Norway.
Departures twice daily at 9.00 and 13.00
We teach our beginners a cross-country ski course on prepared trails on the top of Tromsøya island. The terrain is beginner friendly and the perfect place to begin your cross-country skiing journey.
You will learn how to put the skis on and off and basic techniques in a flat area. We introduce you to new skills, help with your skiing technique, and even challenge you to some small hills! Your small group will be skiing in a scenic area surrounded by birch and spruce forests and will take a break for a hot drink and lefse (a local sweet snack).
As the weather can change rapidly in Northern Norway, you must wear warm and windproof clothes to join the tour. Clothing is not included in the price of the trip. Suitable clothing can be rented separately at our rental centre with prior arrangements.
From mid-February onwards, we recommend bringing sunglasses and sunblock. The sun can be surprisingly intense due to the reflection from the snow.

Season: November - April depending on snow conditions
Number of participants: 2-10
Minimum age: 12 years old
Level of difficulty: Easy
Departure time: November-March: 9:00 and 13:00 (9:00am and 1:00 pm)
If the trips are fully booked we will plan an additional departure at 14:30.
In April we offer only tour with departure at 14:30.
Meeting location: Tours at 9:00 and 13:00 - in front of Radisson Blu Hotel in Tromsø, 10 min before departure.
Tour with departure at 2:20pm (14:20) - at the Ground floor in Prostneset terminal in the waiting hall (address: Samuel Arnesensgt. 5, Prostneset Tromsø City Centre). Planned departure time and place: ca. 2:30pm (ca.14:30) at the port terminal, depending on Hurtigruten arrival - may be few minutes earlier or later and we may need to wait.
